I went back to the nearby wildlife refuge to see how much it had greened up since I was there in March. I wasn't very happy with most of my photos, but I'll share a few of the okay ones here.
I don't know what these are. I really don't know much of anything in the way of wild plants, except which ones are cute.
Although, I do know this is a dandelion, not to be confused with the dandelions that are yellow and do not make your wishes come true. I don't know why they are called the same thing or if they are the same thing at different stages or what. Maybe that's an embarrassing confession.
This was my happy discovery of the day! I don't think I've seen this wildflower before, but it was in a lot of swampy spots along the trail.
Speaking of the trail: tada! It's definitely different from last time I was there (see fifth picture on this entry for a comparison).
I like road/trail photos. I'm so cliche.
There wasn't a lot of wildlife to photograph. I kept hearing stuff flying off as I got closer, but there's enough greenery that it's hard to see things. I think this is a Cinnamon Teal. Hm...wonder how it gets its name?
And here's a Peppercorn White. Just kidding... I don't know what this is. Anyone?
And this is a bird sitting in a tree.
